Iran’s short film ‘Varahram’ grabs award in Swiss festival

Iranian short film ‘Varahram’, directed by Mahdi Kamrani, has won at OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival in Switzerland.

‘Varahram’ managed to grab the Best Short award at the 8th edition of the Swiss event.

The film tells the story of a little girl whose mother does not allow her to play with other children in their alley.

Last month, the film was featured at the 2019 edition of the International Children’s Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The 8th edition of OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival took place in the city of Lugano on April 7-14.

OtherMovie Lugano Film Festival “aims to act as a cultural bridge between East and West whilst lending visibility to quality art house cinema.”
